About the Author After graduating from Penn State University, Rosemary Matteson taught high school English, journalism, and creative writing for thirty-one years. She has studied watercolor painting at the Lake Placid Center for the Arts, Old Forge Art Center, Mohawk Valley Center for the arts, and the St. Lawrence Art Center. She has written and illustrated Tommy's Circle of Friends, Tommy Meets Muffy From Manhattan, and Okie, The Little Stowaway. Her adult novel, Nothing Gold Can Stay, was published in 1999. She lives in Central New York with her husband, Mel, two Jack Russell Terriers and a Bichon Frise. All of the animals in her children's books have lived with the Mattesons on Meadowview Farm.
